Jim Saurer
 Congratulations to Sunland-Tujunga's newly elected Honorary Mayor, Jim Saurer. Sponsored by the Elks Lodge, Jim won the election by a narrow margin of votes. Both Jim and by the American Legion’s candidate, Ray Moon, ran an excellent race working hard to get the votes. We know from past experience, it takes a lot of time, hard work and good people to go the distance on our Honorary races, and we wish to thank everyone involved who helped in this year’s campaign. The actual swearing-in ceremony for Jim will take place at our September 21 Mixer, being held at Century 21 Crest in Sunland. We will also be honoring our current Mayor Catherine Vaananen, also sponsored by the Elks Lodge. The three cash prize winners will be selected and announced at the mixer as well.
