Make a splash with Ribbon Cutting or Grand Opening events!
Ribbon cuttings and grand opening ceremonies benefit our Chamber members by generating publicity for their businesses.
Requests for a ribbon cutting should be made to the Chamber office four weeks prior to the date. This gives invited officials time to add your event to their schedules.
The Chamber notifies and invites representatives from:
- Elected Officials: Congressman Adam Schiff, County of Los Angeles Supervisor Michael Antonovich, State of California Senator Carol Liu, Assemblywoman Patty Lopez, City of Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti, City Councilmember Felipe Fuentes, police and fire officials
- Chamber: Board of Directors, Ambassadors and other Chamber Member Businesses
If you are mailing out your own invitations, please send a sample invitation to the Chamber office.
Ribbon cuttings may be scheduled for Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday afternoons from 3 to 5 pm and Saturdays by special arrangement. The host business is encouraged to provide refreshments and invite additional guests, including friends, neighboring businesses, customers, vendors, etc.
Your event will be listed on the chamber website for all to see, as well as facebook and twitter. The Chamber will also send a press release to dozens of local media outlets, so please let us know if you are doing anything special for your event, such as performances, give-aways, etc.
Please provide a logo, flyer, and photo of your business to the Chamber. Balloons always are festive and help draw attention to your event.
The Chamber will promote your event (before and after) and coordinate presentations from officials for ribbon-cuttings and certificates of congratulations.
