Let me start by saying congratulations to our new CD7 councilwoman, Monica Rodriguez. I sincerely know she will do great things for our community and look forward to working alongside her. My next congratulations goes out to all of the 2017 graduating classes. You have worked so hard for this day. Let the caps fly and the celebrations begin! The chamber wishes you all bright future success as opportunities come your way.

The Sunland-Tujunga Chamber has been actively engaged in many activities this month. Thank you to Takui and Dr. Charles Richardson for hosting our monthly mixer at the office of Free My Spine Health Group. Members were able to have their backs adjusted, learn about preventive health care and rehab exercises for optimal health and recovery from injuries. Thank you to The Crows Nest Sports Grille for providing delicious food for everyone to enjoy.

We also had a ribbon cutting ceremony at Lilly’s Gifts in Tujunga, a new gift store in the IHOP shopping center. They are open late and have quality gifts that are very affordable. They had a well-attended grand opening ceremony with many family members and friends. Armineh, the owner of Lilly’s Gifts, is a proud new chamber member.

Our next mixer is scheduled Wednesday, June 21st from 6-8pm at Arnie’s Coffee N Cruise located at 6390 Foothill Blvd. Tujunga. Everyone is welcome to attend this mixer for socializing, learning about the chamber, and getting to know more about local businesses. We have fantastic raffle prizes and offer time to promote your business!

Finally, we are looking for some candidates for the Honorary Mayors Race! If anyone is interested in participating, please contact the chamber office at (818) 352-4433. It is a great way to raise funds for our local nonprofit charities and have a lot of fun while doing it! The deadline to apply has been extended to June 15th. Thank you for your continued support and efforts in Making Sunland-Tujunga a Better Community Together!
