With our first large event for this year behind us, we could not be happier with our success. What an excellent turn out, and bountiful community involvement! Nothing warms my heart more than seeing the smiling faces of children playing games, waiving to the Easter Bunny, winning prizes or just having fun in the park.

We would like to thank the Sunland Parks and Recreation Centers, our sponsors, all the vendors that participated as well as the volunteers that dedicated their time to plan for the event and all the weekend excitement. We hope to keep the tradition going, and have the event again next year.

The Chamber Board is on a mission to continue our theme for the year of being “Better Together.” We are starting to plan for upcoming events for the year including the Honorary Mayor race, exciting mixers on the 3rd Wednesday of every month, Ribbon Cutting Ceremonies, featuring ‘Business of the Month” on our website, and organizing educational classes for businesses.
The Honorary Mayor race is taking place over the next three months and will be announced on June 15th, 2017. We are currently looking for participants who are interested in running for ‘Honorary Mayor’ and sponsored by any non-profit organization. Please contact our office for an application and/or additional information.

This month we held a mixer event at Link and Hops. Several attendees joined together to sample delicious food and refreshing drinks. We would like to thank Andy and his superb staff for allowing us to hold our mixer at his location and offering us incredible service. Next month we will be hosting a mixer at Free my Spine, and it will be on May 17th, 2017 from 6pm to 8pm. Come in to get your back adjusted or for a free consultation. We will have food samples from local restaurants, and I look forward to seeing you all there! We also participated in a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at one of our Resident member’s business in La Crescenta – Interactive Fitness Systems on Foothill Boulevard. Interactive Fitness Systems is helping members of our community better themselves through working out and improving their health. This business is newly opened, has amazing services and great equipment.

Sunland-Tujunga Chamber of Commerce Memberships continue to grow at a rapid pace, and we could not be more excited about this. We would like to extend a warm welcome to our newest members, USC Verdugo Hills Hospital and New York Life. I cannot express enough how happy I am with all the positive feedback the board has, to help businesses in our community. Please do not forget to get out and vote for your CD7 candidates either by mail or in person on May 16th, 2017. If you are interested in assisting or learning more about the Chamber, please feel free to reach out to me personally.
