The Sunland-Tujunga Chamber had another fun and successful networking mixer at the Crescenta Valley Family YMCA in March. Special thanks to our hosts, YMCA of the Foothills and Castle Construction! The Back Door Bakery & Cafe did a delightful job hosting the Chamber’s February mixer on February 15. We were pleased with the overwhelming attendance which included dignitary Assemblymember Laura Friedman’s office and Senator Anthony Portantino’s office, several CD7 candidates, the Sunland Tujunga Neighborhood Council President and members, and of course our wonderful and supportive residents.

Department of Public Works seeking comments and suggestions: Fair Chance Initiative for Hiring Ordinance
[excerpted from an email from Kimi Kawashima, Contract Compliance Analyst at the Los Angeles Department of Public Works] The City of Los Angeles recently approved the Los Angeles Fair Chance Initiative for Hiring Ordinance (FCIHO). This law will go into effect in January 2017. The goal of this law is to remove some of the employment
